About the Society of St. Bede
Teachers at ASA member schools are automatically part of the Society of Saint Bede, which views teaching as a kind of lay ministry within the Anglican tradition and supports educators in their spiritual and professional formation. The Society provides tools for local certification and ongoing development, while national programs offer structured opportunities through school visits, study modules, and summer intensives. School visits allow teachers to observe various classrooms and engage in peer discussions, while study modules include required spiritual formation as well as electives in subjects like literature, philosophy, and grammar education. Training may occur locally or remotely and is often led by experienced mentors.
